We are very excited to introduce our refreshingly new workshop for the cycling community of Exeter and the surrounding area! We are now OPEN! Please continue to bring your bicycles in for maintenance, call us for advice or book a service in online.
Hi, I'm Denes.
I have been a bicycle mechanic all my life and this workshop is my dreams come true. I have been to every corner of this industry: apprentice by the side of a one-man-band shop to one of the largest bike shops in the USA, mechanic for a racing team, race-day mechanic and so on. Cyclists of Exeter perhaps would recognise me for working on their bikes in a large shop for the past 15 years.
My philosophy is to keep cycling green. This industry has changed a lot since I held my first cone spanner in my hands. The once green mode of transport has turned into a disposable culture. My goal is to be true to its roots! My aim is to fix if it's fixable, re-use if it can find a new home and re-Cycle if it reached the end of its useful life. Go green Exeter, cycle into a sustainable future!
My workshop is open to everyone in the cycling community. No appointments are needed, you can wait and have a chat & coffee while your bicycle is getting a new lease of life. You can drop off your ride and collect it the day after if it's easier. Every bike is going to be treated as it was my own. No job is too small, be it a puncture repair before the Sunday group ride, brake cable replacement for the commute home or a suspension overhaul for the oncoming enduro.
This is a quick checkover to ensure your bicycle has no loose components and it is in roadworthy condition. You will get a printout service sheet if required. Most of the times you can wait around as it is only a short job.

In this service minor parts will be replaced, most likely you will get a new set of cables, new brake pads. All these parts will be installed and your gears will be indexed, brakes and bearings adjusted. A printout of parts replaced and adjusted will be provided if needed. Ideally you may want to leave the bike with us for the day as it can be boring to wait for it. Two coffee and a packed lunch may cover it.

This is a complete overhaul of your pride and joy. All drive train components, shifting and braking items will be replaced. Wheel hubs will be serviced, spokes tensioned and wheels trued. No stones left unturned. This is it for the next two years. It takes three to four coffee, a packed lunch and dinner. Of course an appraisal printout of the works carried out will be provided.

Workshop labour charges exclude any parts or components. Any other jobs can be carried out on any type of monocycles, bicycles, tricycles, cargo bikes, tandem bikes, electric or manual. Our hourly rate is £50/hour.
Here we are working on a 3 speed gear-hub made by Shimano in 1980. Yes, it is still in pristine condition after cleaning and re-greasing. Ready to serve for the next 40 years.
This time it was a full strip down clean and lubrication of a 8 speed Shimano Nexus gear-hub. They are prone for pitted driver bearing races. This service saved this hub and many more city miles are ahead.
A Hope Mini from the 90s ready for reassembly. Good to see that spare parts are still available for these oldies. This makes a company great! Needless to say the brake worked like on day one.
This bike features a 3 speed Sturmey Archer gear-hub. It needed a service, having been in service for a long time. Still a lot left in it!
